Karina Marzano Franco
Project Lead Trade and International Partnerships
Karina Marzano is the Project Lead for Trade and International Partnerships at Agora Industry. Her work focuses on the international collaboration required to decarbonize global industrial value chains, including the external dimension of the EU’s decarbonization efforts. Until November 2025, Karina served as the Project Lead for Industrial Transformation in Brazil at Agora Industry.
Before joining Agora, she was a Fellow at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) in Potsdam. Until August 2019, she worked as the Project Manager of the Regional Programme on Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS).
She is a licensed attorney with a Bachelor of Laws from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in European Law and Integration from the Europa-Institut at Saarland University in Germany, an MBA in International Relations from the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Brazil, and a Doctorate in Social Sciences (Dr. rer. pol.) from the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt in Germany. Her research focused on the intersection of sustainability and trade, with a particular emphasis on supply chain law and governance. Her background combines academic and professional experience in both Latin America and Europe, along with solid expertise in legal and political science fields.
